Service atrocious, staff had no idea. Waited 10 minutes for a beer to be pored. Only one at bar was me 🤣

This lovely looking pub almost bought itself a negative review. We went by on a Saturday evening, which, granted, was extremely busy, but we hadn’t had time to make any reservations, as we had only arrived that evening. After waiting some time at the waiting sign, I decided to approach the bar, where they confirmed that there would be a 45 or so minute wait, as we did not have a reservation. Went in as a walk-in to their restaurant and was sat immediately. Today was a Sunday so of course I had to try their Sunday roast which did not disappoint and was very delicious. I had room for some dessert and I ordered the sticky toffee pudding which was absolutely phenomenal. I’m traveling around the UK and so far this is the BEST pudding I have tried.
Meh… I don’t know, the rooms are somewhat updated, the bathrooms are huge, with a nice big bathtub, but when were they last cleaned? The floors are gross! The worst part of our stay was how hot the room was, the heater was on upon arrival. Only way to cool down the room is to open the windows on to a loud and busy street, the fan helped a little.
