The group at Black Ops Valdez was superb! Tabatha was responsive and accommodating with a short notice request for a day booking, our guide Ryan was dedicated to our day on the mountain, and our pilot Nick was meticulous in the air. Great pregame brief by the entire staff. Thanks team!
I showed up to Black Ops sporting a hoodie from another Alaskan heli operator that shall remain nameless...after one day of skiing with Black Ops, I burned that hoodie. World class start to finish. Location is A+. The lodge is in a picturesque spot and close to the base, with shuttle service provided. Access is A+. They get to seemingly limitless quality terrain and the guides know how to get there. As a bonus, my group got to ski and ride with Jerry Hance. Staff is A+. I recently booked a 7 day in-town heli package, which covers lodging in Valdez and Hobbs hours and is roughly a 20 min drive to the launch site. This was the perfect option since I enjoy the drive into Valdez from Anchorage and would have access to a car. What I could not anticipate was the attention to detail of the guides and their ability to find terrain to match the group’s ability.
