1950 maple table George stripped and refinished a maple table for me. The job was very well done and I was extremely happy with the work. I would highly recommend them.

Chairs Restored! I have brought 2 antique wooden chairs to Black Oak to be refinished. Both chairs had been badly damaged in moving. Though it took time to have the work done, the work was EXCELLENT! The chairs, which were a pair, came back even more beautiful then they were when new. Also, the chairs were refinished at 2 different times and they still matched the color. I would recommend to anyone who has a piece of furniture that they care about that needs repair...bring it here, you will get you piece back better than new!

Beautiful Work on Antique Dresser We brought in an antique, damaged dresser for refinishing. The end result was excellent. The store seems a bit disorganized, but they did get the job done and done very well.

First I emailed Black Oak with a question and never heard from them. Then I called to get a quote for stripping the dark stain off my bookcase. I was given a fair price so figured the unreturned email may have been a fluke. This was a terrible decision. They came and got my bookcase and three weeks later returned it the exact color that it left my house, with only the varnish stripped off. When I told the delivery driver (who I found out was the owner) this was not what I asked for, he educated me that stripping of stain is actually called refinishing, and I had not asked for that. Then he hemmed and hawed that he could probably do it in 12 weeks with an additional charge. I was outraged with the lack of care and simple business competence, and told him so. I paid him for his work and will never do business with them again, nor can I recommend them to anyone.
