This is a nice little bookstore in a decent location. I was disappointed with the drama section and the essay section. There just want enough variety! However, it could be due to the size of the shop. The staff were super friendly though, and the shop had a nice ambiance.

Plenty of secondhand books here, as well as some new ones. The secondhand selection is spotty and prices tend to be a bit on the high side. Still, this is a good place to hunt for oddities. You never know what you might find.

While I still miss the old Black Oak location up on Shattuck Ave., this new spot has its own charms. They have an extensive selection of new and used, adult and children, fiction and non-fiction. If you seek philosophy, US history, world folk and fairy tales, self help, parenting, education, psychology, travel, or any of many sub-genres (do not miss the sic-fi room in back), then this is your place. They have deep stacks redolent of the unmistakeable odor of Book, and plenty of street parking.
