It’s quite disheartening to see how much they’ve fallen off. My great aunt lives there & from what my family had told me, they’ve changed everything. You see the difference immediately — staff seem overwhelmed, communication has gotten worse, and the care just doesn’t feel as personal or attentive as it used to. It’s sad because this place once had such a good reputation, but lately it sounds like residents and families are being let down. Do not recommend until they change things to how it once was.
We moved our Parents to Birchwood after our Dad had a stroke, I cannot say enough about the excellent care they receive. Nursing staff and caregivers are top notch!
Birchwood Cottages has been a blessing to our family. The care is so personal along with great love and respect for the residents. Our parents have enjoyed being there and feel safe which was our biggest concern. There is not a day when I am there that I am not greeted with a smile and a hello! Anyone looking for a safe haven for their loved one won’t be disappointed.
I could not be more pleased. Staff to resident ratio is very good. Staff is very caring and thorough. Communication is very good. I live 8 hours away from my loved one. I never worry about him in their care. I highly recommend this facility.
