I have been with Bike works for years and I have gotten to know everyone that works there and they are all genuinely nice great people. I believe all the prices are fair and they always do the job perfectly. Overall it's my favorite bike shop I've been to and the prices are great and there great at it.
I had a favorable experience at Bike Works. Bike Works' initial estimate was far cheaper over a local national chain competitor and in the end their initial estimate was reduced by near half. They didn't charge any more than needed to make the expected repair and my bike was returned a day earlier.
I purchased a brake cable kit for $24.99. Without using it, I returned it and was told that I could only get store credit. This was disappointing, however I took the store credit. Later I returned and got some repair help, costing $3.00. Upon paying with my store credit, I asked how long the credit was good. The owner replied, "90 days." I asked if a gift certificate would last longer. He confirmed that it would, then replied "I'm not making a gift certificate for $20. Just keep it.
