Blair has the goods!! My son realized that he forgot his running shoes the night before we were departing for our backpacking weekend. We arrived at Big Willi shortly after 8:00am, because Blair opens shop early for the "last minute....oops I forgot something" folks, and we were on our way by 8:20am, perfect running shoes in hand, or rather on foot!! We wished we had more time to browse and chat. Blair is entertaining as heck and he even offered coffee!
Excellent store with a great selection of essentials for hiking/climbing. What really sets this place apart is the owner, Blair who is extraordinarily friendly and knowledgeable about Mount Whitney and the greater Sierra Range. We stopped by to grab a couple last minute items and left with everything we were looking for plus a bunch of great advice and tips from Blair for our hike. Seriously a great store and very worth stopping in if you’re in the area.
Blair is a super dude who can get you the right gear and provide some local insights for your adventures in the area. He’s very generous with his time and stories. My brother and I were doing a trip up Whitney and he cued us in on some info that proved most helpful. Great store and a great people. Definitely support this store.
