This is a good place to get low prices on sporting goods. They usually greet their customers at the door and offer to help you with any questions. If you want camping gear though you are better off going to REI. Overall I would say that this is the bestplace to get general sporting gear. I would not go there for a bike or something specific like that.

Big 5 is a great chain. I dont know how they are able to get such low prices but they do it and do it well. Heavily discounted sneakers, hiking boots, beachwear, sporting accessories and outdoor equipment. Staff is typically very knowledgeable and helpful and will go that extra mile. Once I went in to this Big 5 with a Yoga ball I need to blow up and the salesperson was really gracious about letting me use their air pump without buying anything.
