I was on a long, self-supported ride from Alturas to Sacramento via Lake Tahoe when my chain started skipping on climbs. I had heard about Bicycle Bananas when planning my trip, so when I got to Susanville, I stopped in. The mechanic on duty saw that I was on a trip and took my bike right away. He quickly diagnosed the problem (shifter cable was fraying and about to snap!) and he repaired the problem and got me on my way.
