I’m beyond fed up with Bethel School District’s transportation department. Getting an automated phone call at 5:00 AM saying they won’t be picking up or dropping off our kids again because of “ongoing staffing shortages” is absolutely ridiculous. How are working parents supposed to deal with this? We have jobs to get to, responsibilities, and no magic solution for last-minute transportation. Today at a elementary school, the bus was late. After 25 minutes I called to see what was going on and transportation said the bus would be there in about 7 to 8 minutes and apologized. After 20 minutes (45 minutes late) I called the school and they proceeded to tell me the bus was already there, even though my whole road (not just my block but 20 blocks from the school) had not been picked up, and they would try to get another bus out. I hope the right people read this! This bus driver on 205 bus older lady for elementary school needs go be fired! She constantly yells at the kids then tells them they will get expelled if they reach in backpacks? She has had so many complaints that parents are taking things into their own hands and yelling at her! Today marks another day of her crappy attitude!
