Camp Director Becky Firestone, is a terrible unprofessional director/counselor, she offends children and discriminants against them, leaves them out of trips you have paid for. I would never recommend this Day camp, besides her being a awful person, the children stay on phones the whole camp, no engagement in any activities only swim time twice and very few trips which they discriminate on who can attend. Horrible conditions for counselors. A friend of mine worked there and was treated like a slave. He was being a mere $4 an hour and was told to throw out his lunch because it was not kosher. This place needs to do better for the welfare of its counselors.
I have worked at BSDC for many years and now I'm back along with my kids. If you're looking for a camp environment that will give you a close feeling of family, you have found the right place. BSDC may not be the biggest of places, but offers a lot. The staff is warm and welcoming, Division Heads go way beyond for parents and Becky and Dee Dee are fantastic.
