My case was referred to Bet Tzedek by a social worker and I received a call, provided details, later met with two Bet Tzedek volunteers. Nothing else happened. The person responsible left Bet Tzedek and no-one else became involved. I enlisted the help of a social worker to find an answer. Finally Bet Tzedek called and said they couldn't help me. My personal feeling is that there were ways they could easily have helped me -- by accompanying me to a court hearing, for example -- but instead they dropped my case.
I have called over and over again for two weeks and they do not call back . They gave me a Attorney to call and she just has a answering machine and never returns our call. We are two disabled seniors and my husband is partially paralyzed and brain damaged and we are victims of a foreclosure scam. We are on a fixed income and my husband is just going to get worse.
