This store is illegally charging a 6% sales tax on sanitary pads. Under Maryland law (Senate Bill 81), all menstrual hygiene products—including pads, tampons, and cups—are strictly tax-exempt.When I brought this to the attention of the staff, the employees refused to solve the issue, and management was conveniently "unavailable" to assist. Retailers are legally required by the Maryland Comptroller to update their Point of Sale systems to reflect this exemption.
