we are a family-owned dairy farm located in Menominee, Illinois (halfway between East Dubuque & Galena,IL). We milk 400 cows, mostly Holsteins (the black and white ones!) and run about 850 acres. We’re passionate about what we do, and we love educating others about what farming looks like today. Come visit! What a fun and educational tour. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. It is not every day you get to bottle feed a calf and milk a cow!
My husband and I decided to try out the farm tour at Berning Acres while we were visiting Galena, IL this summer. We had visited another dairy farm in the past and though it was interesting, it didn't hold a candle to Berning Acres. Natalie and her family were very accommodating of our group! Our twins had the best time feeding goats and riding ponies… Highly highly recommend!
Our Galena ARC Summer Campers had an amazing experience on our field trip to Berning Acres. It was very well organized, informative and most importantly, FUN! We even got to experience a cow giving birth and a goat getting a cast on its leg!
