I have been a loyal Berkshire Bank customer for the past five years. My card was recently shut off for “fraud” (I tried to buy Airpods on the Apple website). When I went into the East Longmeadow branch to get my card turned back on, the woman, Kathy, told me “We’re not equipped to deal with this,” and to call the number on the back of my debit card. This branch has given me nothing but terrible service. I have been a customer for years. On more than one occasion they have treated me like I was a criminal for withdrawing my own money. Asking me evasive questions. One time having me take my hat off in the middle of the transaction. Odd behavior. I will soon be closing my account and going to another bank. I also have an account at Alden and they have never treated me in the manner that the staff here has treated me.
