I went to Benton State Bank to apply for a HELOC. They pulled my credit report from transunion and took 100 points off of it to deny me credit. I think this is a really crappy business practice and it's discriminatory against people who are poor like me. Their minimum score to qualify for the loan was 600 and I was at 603 And the denial letter I got in the mail today said that my credit score was 503 which is completely inaccurate. Used to be the first place we’d go for anything! 8:45pm on July 15, 2020 we received a text message from the banks president telling us to apologize to one of the tellers for saying we would stop making payments and let them repo a vehicle after being told we had to add another vehicle for collateral to put storage coverage on a vehicle(3 payments remaining) that hasn’t been used in months.
