While staying at the Hawthorne in Chatham, which felt like the accommodations we fondly remembered while traveling with our parents in the 50s & 60s; we completed the trip down memory lane by happening into this old-school 5 &10. The prices are current, but the jumble of jimcracks and jeejaws was definitely old-school. Almost felt like a 1/2 century+ had faded away.

The Ben Franklin store a 5 and 10 in Chatham is like stepping back in time to your childhood. I visit it every trip to Chatham since I was little and always find a treasure. There is so much variety from practical crafts supplies and kitchen utensils, home decor to gifts and souvenirs, games, kites. I recently bought two decorative signs. The quality and price amazing. I just love this store! Unpretentious place with everything from touristy chotchies to needlepoint supplies and everything in between. Household essentials to souvenir keychains. You name it. And always a friendly face behind the counter.
