The owner Nick made me feel like he is in a monopoly position. I came in asking for a repair of the derailleur hanger. The mechanic said $25 and I agreed. After 15 minutes, the mechanic has done his job. The owner suddenly raised the price to $30. He’s justification is that “this is same day repair, walk-in, in a rush, $30 would be fair” “if you leave your bike here and come back tomorrow, you pay $25”. Great service! Bike mechanic took time to explain the issues he fixed and walked me through it. Learned something & by far the best price on service that ive experienced. Ive been to about 5 shops for a variety of services in the peninsula/city
Extremely Disappointed – Poor Service and Unkept Promises I will never go back to this shop. I had to bring my bike in twice for a simple creaking issue—after they already had it for two weeks the first time. The bigger issue was a warranty replacement part I was told would arrive in “about five days.” I followed up weekly for two months, calling nine times, and was told each time that they would get back to me. Called a few shops looking for an older style 2018 Transition derailleur hanger bolt and hanger, nobody local had one in stock. Nick (the owner) said to come into the his shop cause he had one to spare from his personal bike! Saved the day right before Sea Otter. Big thank you!
