Wonderful chocolates, lovely owner, great cause.
We came for a tour of the facility and left with a much greater appreciation for what they do. I learned that the organization gives back to many different causes, which is truly impressive. Much of the operation is supported by volunteers, and their mission is to empower women overcoming employment barriers while investing 100% of their net profits to help children and families facing adversity. Only open 10-3 but oh my gosh so delicious. Worth a special trip. And they had jam and gelato as well as a few gifts. Try the Paw Paw gelato for a unique one if a kind taste experience (it’s a fruit, not your granddad’s recipe). They are a nonprofit and support women’s and children’s charities. They also ship and have special order options for events or corporate gifts.
I actually couldn't say enough good things about this shop or the owner(?) enough. We stopped in JUST before they closed today, and the woman was so friendly, funny, and helpful. We bought a handful of gift boxes, and she chatted about the dog show we were in town for, was so patient with us while we picked out which chocolates to get for friends, described each one we had questions on, and was genuinely so kind. I have a couple of foodies at home. They love dark chocolate. Walmart will do in a pinch, but this was Valentine's Day! I needed something special and it had to be in the Tri-cities area. One place stood out because they are a non-profit whose mission is to help kids and mothers-Bellafina Chocolates in Kingsport. It's small but cozy. The counter person was funny and nice.
