They don't send me my real estate tax bills, then when I call and ask where it is tell me it was sent and I'm now late! All I want is a timely bill so I can pay by bill without late fees...too much to ask apparently. Never run into such a lying, rude, poorly run organization before.
Starting this tax cycle BCT is offering options to communicate via email, not just by phone. Every year past if we had to remove a vehicle from our account because of it being sold, or Roanoke County tried to claim taxes for us instead it was such a hassle with the back and forth, and with them trying to redirect me incorrectly to the dmv. This year I was able to send an email, and they took care of the problem and sent a response. So much smoother!
This place is a joke. Real estate tax payments are sent to charlotte nc. I sent a payment on 5/31 and they charged me a 10% penalty plus interest because it arrived on june 6 instead of june 5. The online payment system was designed in 1985 and charges over $20 even if u pay from your bank. The people are morons. And its never open. 830-430 exactly when most people are working. Your state government at work. A well earned rating.
They're always nice to me and have always provided assistance.
