Why does Beaufort county tax owners on appliances who rent out their property? I do not understand this tax! Rental property owners already have to pay an additional 2% so why are they paying the county for appliances that they own? Anyone care to explain this?
I went to get my out of state military vehicle tax exemption and it was very quick. I read the directions on their website and had all the paperwork ready upon arrival. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and proceeded to the DMV. Very happy with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff there. My vehicle is a newly imported vehicle and hadn’t been registered in the US yet. They knew exactly what to do. Thank you!

Why doesn't ANYONE answer calls in ANY department?? The phone just rings and rings until it finally cuts the caller off!! Something is VERY wrong when a place of business has such LOW reviews!!!
I would give negative stars if I could...and I try to focus on the positive...Upon receipt of the initial mistaken removal of our Primary residence tax of 4 McIntosh in 2018, and retroactively taxing us all the way back to 2012...We responded immediately to the Assessor office at Port Royal plantation, as it was primary from start to finish to include taxes, registration's, voting registration, school district's for our children, etc. As you will see, we provided all documentation after several visits to Assessor agent, and ... read more
