Please please if you can find funding anywhere else please do so. I took a loan and totally regretted it. They charge an admin fee $150.00 for every thing they do. I wouldn’t recommend taking a loan from BDC. It is sad as they should be helping small businesses in canada not taking advantage of small businesses.

Am starting a business so I reached out to bdc to help with financing land acquisition. Was told I don't qualify cause I wasn't in business for at least 12 months. Thanks for your help. New small business startups in Canada can't get help with financing.
We're coming out of the Pandemic. Small Businesses are struggling. The Government of Canada says that it's helping small businesses with financial support to help them bounce back from the impacts of the Pandemic. To a certain extent, it has. But when we contact BDC (claiming to be a Government Bank), their Business Development Managers (BDMs) still continue to follow the qualification criteria that used to exist before the Pandemic.
