Bay Area Legal Services declined to assist us with a civil lawsuit involving active water intrusion, foundation seepage, and structural defects in our rental unit. Attorney Betty Thomas refused to review any of our documentation and did not appear familiar with Florida Landlord‑Tenant law. I got a call yesterday that I was approved and to call back today for an appointment. The women who answered the phone was so incredibly rude. I was asking her basic questions and she either couldn't answer them or sounded like it was causing her pain to do so. After asking a couple questions and catching her in a lie, I pointed it out and she HUNG UP ON ME. This is after I waited over 30 minutes on hold just to talk to her. Completely unacceptable. So whoever was working August 20th doing scheduling needs to be retrained
I am a survivor of human trafficking and also identity theft. They helped get me to the right resources and started the process to get my taxes cleared up that is a result of being forced in a criminal enterprise.
Place is a joke ... waited 2 weeks for a phone call. Finally lawyer called and was told I would receive a call back and instead received a call back my case was denied by them for no apparent reasoning.
