Mike is a great instructor. We started with setup and learning the different parts of the glider. We went over safety protocols then hooked in. We started on a gentle slope and slowly worked our way up the hill as skills progressed. I felt safe and in good hands the whole time. Thanks Mike!
Had my first hang gliding lesson this past Saturday, and it was absolutely incredible. Mike is a wonderful teacher, who really goes the distance to make sure his students have a great first experience with hang gliding. I actually flew, and it was so so cool! I don't live in California anymore, but I'll absolutely be back to take more lessons with Mike. Thank you for an amazing class!
Mike is a fantastic instructor and will take you from jogging down the bunny hill to flying through the sky with confidence. His wealth of knowledge and experience is evident and you can tell he really loves introducing new students to the sport and guiding them on their journey to becoming pilots. He works with your schedule and helps you progress at whatever pace you are able and safety and good technique are paramount. Danger! Mike almost killed me by pulling in my VG and telling me to do a flat turn. Do not go to Mike! He doesn't know what he is talking about and should not be an instructor. I got a broken neck, a concussion, and a broken glider for listening and letting him touch my wing. He is now lieing about everything to cover himself. He also refuses to refund any of my money. He is not a good person or instructor! You have been warned!
Training with Mike B. at Bay Area Hang Gliding is, by far, worth the 2+ hour drive to get to Milpitas for me. Eric and Mike have been super helpful with everything getting me through the process, and they don’t just answer your questions. They explain the why, and give examples until I understand well. These guys are all around good guys, and work with your schedule. They got me flying on the ‘bunny slope’ at the first class session, and I’ve been hooked since.
