We got a letter this week telling us our home on 1/2 care values home in 2019 at $92,000 we bought it in Oct last year (2019). I'm on disability with limited income and this year taxes are for $166,000 Home / Land . The 1/2 care is valued at $96,000 and home at $65,000. Home value steady, to finance we had an appraiser give us the Land / Home at $85,000. $65,000 for home and $20,000 for land. I'm hoping we can get it adjusted with a hearing.
How is it legal to raise taxes from $190,000 to $345,000 in 1 year with no improvements done on property ?
The 2020 Notice of Appraised Value is so outrageous. Over 30,000 increase in value of 2 bedroom 1 bath home during a time when people are struggling....Is this a land grab, never let a crisis go to waste
They don't follow the law in their decisions or in their application processes. They also violate the law at the Appraisal Review Board hearings to guarantee that taxpayers can not get a fair hearing. If you question their illegal procedures, they harass and intimidate you to try to make you give up your rights.
