Barney's Pets began as a breeder and wholesale facility over 25 years ago in Southern California. In that time we have expanded nationally while raising thousands of birds, from finches to macaws and everything in between. Hamsters are showing signs of inbreeding. When taken to the vet they died and a necropsy was performed. The vet found that most of these young hamsters had genetic diseases due to poor breeding. They said in many of the hamsters (ages around 2 months) it was impossible to find a healthy organ.
