BBQ Country was first established to fill a need for great barbecue in Warrenton. Townsfolk had often had a craving for barbecue, and it wasn't until BBQ Country was established that the craving began to be satiated. What the town didn't expect though, was how good the barbecue was. Tender ribs that fell off the bone, coupled with cuts of brisket that melted in the mouth were only accented by variety of sauces that ranged from subtle to in-your-face. Lame Barbecue in a Truck Stop – I stopped here for a quick dinner with my father-in-law and brother-in-law, while traveling. Papa, a native Virginian, gave it a three out of ten. The bro, a Yankee, didn't comment. I, from Tennessee, concur with Papa -- the pork has no flavor beyond the sauce, which was basically "Kraft." The sides were bland. Basically, you'd do better to stop at Kroger and buy their barbecue, slaw and beans, and then go to a local gas station for atmosphere. One up-side -- their "bbq sausage," (something I have not seen) was rather good.
