This school is filled with bullying and racism which is not deterred by teachers or administration! A child should never have to experience this in any school its hard enough to get through school, Dont let your child go here with bigotry and racist environment!

barbara bush elementary has long surpassed the old exemplary status. this school is no longer coveted as what it used to be thanks to the HISD budget cuts, top teachers with tenure not getting paid what they should replaced with teachers right out of college and rezoning which now includes many apartments in the area with transient families. Fights are a common occurance, problems with dysfunctional families and kids using this school as a means of babysitting and not a learning environment. All three of our kids attended this school. Excellent staff and parent involvement. More recently there have been many more foreigners that move in the energy corridor area and that makes for great ethnic diversity but also means that some of them may be just temporarily in Houston making getting local children to keep long term friendships more difficult.

For me it is an excellent school, all its staff is very professional and above all very focused on children having a good education.
