I’ve been to camp several times and it’s an honestly amazing place. This review is mostly just to clear the ignorant comment made by another account, they posted one star saying that people swapped clothing and other weird things. 1. It’s encouraged to bring extra clothes for screening, - putting paint on them, and it has never been encouraged to swap clothing between boys and girls unless it’s for finding cool outfits to wear to the dances on Saturday nights. 2. I went to this camp summer 2024 and I know that there have been a lot of positive reviews for it, but I would like to say that my experience there was very different. Before I begin to say why I didn’t have a very enjoyable time there, I would like to note that I went during a two week period of an immense heat wave that probably factored into me not having a good time. Bar 717 is the best camp you will ever attend. It’s active, inclusive, beautiful, and fun. You have the opportunity to explore and learn about the Trinity Alps, and the ranch environment. There are all sorts of non-competitive activities, like swimming, arts and crafts, trail rides, hiking, blacksmithing, silk-screening, dancing, etc. If you ever get the chance, send your kids here. It’s worth every penny.
