I’m so so so torn with this bank. I adore the friendly and professional staff and atmosphere in Coralville. Policies bank-wide are ridiculous these days ie, lengthy “holds” on local business/ bank checks. I should have just gotten my cash at veridian! My CC through BMO has placed LENGTHY holds on my transfers from my BMO savings account to pay off my CC. I have to call every darned time to get the funds released. Ridiculous. Worst was when I was in the UK and they wouldn’t release funds and I got stuck….the longest hold EVER... read more
Very unprofessional. ATM is seldom working correctly. Debit card is a pain to use away from bank ATM.
Very kind tellers. Management and admin... not so much. Accuses customers of crimes, shuts down accounts without warning, etc. Try literally any other bank.
I just saw on my account that there are three fraudulent charges, one is there twice. Total $70 approximately. This is the third time this has happened since BMO has taken over. My health is not good. This causes a lot of stress and I am homebound, a senior citizen and disabled. Never in my life have I had this happen before, and I am age 71. The local bank will not deal with it, I have to call the main branch and it takes time and a lot of talking to get it straightened out. Then I have to have a new debit card mailed to me... read more
Do not use bank of the west for anything. Took out a small personal loan in 2019 and on the second to last payment, their system "lost the loan". After a year of calling they said they can't find it so must be taken care of or paid off. Then 3 years later when they found it again they sent it to their own collections department to be charged off. They were sending mail to my last address to alert me even though I had mine updated to new one. Told me it was my fault for not realizing this issue when I had to call and "settle ... read more
