BMO holds bank cashier's checks for 10 days...the most secure check deposited in your account is causing my business huge grief to make sure our vendors are paid and don't experience a bounced check from us, while BMO sits on good funds! They claim no one can release the funds in the whole bank, since it is their policy to sit on bank cashiers checks deposited with them! This is longer than a normal bank check deposit!
