Honestly shouldn't have left my old bank to go to BMO but was told how awesome they are, only to find out that I am now sitting here with a frozen account all because I use the mobile deposit app for the first time ever on a personal check that was written from the company that I work at, said check was cleared and deposit it in my account only to find out they froze my account for fraud submitted supporting documents showing where the money was coming from and why and still have to wait 3 to 5 business days for them to revi... read more
If I could give zero I would. DO NOT open an account with them. I was double charged when purchasing something and they went with the merchant. You can see on the statement I was double charged for the exact same price. THAT IS THEFT. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT. After changing from Bank of the West to this Canadian bank they have been the worst. Stay clear, go anywhere else.
If you like arbitrary security measures, tellers that self admittedly "haven't received guidance, so I made it up", and just the most invasive and off putting experience in your life BMO is the place for you. The Lincolnway branch is a complete comedy show. I use BMO only because I have a semi decent MIR. I don't make extra mortgage payments to escape the interest, no I make them so I can escape BMO. Do NOT use this bank! They have taken over 4 business days to process a normal check and have lied to us while we’ve tried to get answers from them. Go literally anywhere else for the sake of your sanity. Clearly this bank makes their money by failing to process checks and then charging their customers overdraft fees and late fees.
Tried to open a safety deposit box. Had to wait a few days to get an appointment with one of the 2 people trained to do this. Arrived for my appointment and the person helping me had never done this before. After 45 minutes, 2 others helping and head office assistance no luck. Not happy.
