I initially chose BMO on Shattuck Ave in Berkeley because I wanted to support a local neighborhood institution I could rely on—biggest mistake ever. Terrible on-line site, endless lists to find a service not available; awful customer services, old people STANDING in line without chairs for 10 or more minutes, phone rings forever before an answer, little help from humans.
It takes a long time to get service even if I’m first in line. Yesterday an employee came out from bid office and asked the 2 young women behind me if they needed any help, like I was invisible! I told him that I was first in line and he only told me that he was asking them if they needed help! No apology. I’m 78 and not as cute as they were but he wasn’t in a club.
Horrible!! If I could give zero I would. I arrive one hour before closing I wanted to cash my work check and deposit some of it into my savings the teller was very rude she asked me if I had a job or if I sold anything to get that amount on check. She then asked me if I had an account at BMO which I do, I have serval accounts there. She looked at the check and ask me to sign it and that's when she said she could not honor the check.
