Unacceptable experience with BMO. BMO mixed up my account with another customer and gave them access to my personal banking information—without ever calling or emailing me. By the time I got the notice in the mail, my credit card had already been compromised. When I went to close my account, the branch manager (Jeffrey) refused. Even when the police were called, he still wouldn’t cooperate. (ZERO stars, were it possible.) Avoid BMO (Bank of Montreal) like the plague! I opened an account and was told that after I did a My Financial Compass evaluation, I would received a $100 gift card “in approximately 30 days". Well, it took six months and the filing of two separate reports with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (a federal agency of the United States government) before BMO finally ponied up my gift card.
