We opened an account here at the Bank of the James Amherst branch around 9 to 10 years ago , all of the staff have been amazing! They have went above and beyond for us ! Highly recommend banking here ! One thing that stands out , they take interest in there customers, often greeting you by name as you walk through the door! 5 star +
After management changes came about I have had nothing but issues here. One day my card was locked and I called and asked about it and the lady said rudely maybe I should watch my spending and hung up. I will find another bank to use.

For over 5 years I was extremely pleased with this bank’s performance. That ended recently when I discovered several discrepancies in my checking account. I contacted the Amherst branch and reported my problem to Christy W. Rather than explain the process of filing a dispute, she condescendingly told me that I needed to call the vendor myself, there was nothing she could do and, basically, washed her hands of the issue.
