After moving here a year ago, my wife and I decided it was time to open a local checking and savings account. I have many fond memories of visiting my grandparents in Buchanan, so naturally we chose Bank of Botetourt. Sara provided exceptional customer service, was extremely personable, professional and made a rather mundane task rather enjoyable.

I was called at 3 PM on a payday Friday and told my debit card was canceled due to a vague “tip” that a merchant I may have used in the past could potentially cause an issue in the future. There was no fraud, no unusual activity, and no actual problem on my account — and I hadn’t used the card for any recent purchases that would justify concern. I was told I had two weeks to get a new card, but it was deactivated immediately, leaving me with no access to my funds all day Friday and the entire weekend. No support is available... read more
Update, had to move away but my banking needs in the area exceeded my expectations with the staff and bank. Everyone was professional and polite, took there time to know you. No robo calls or on hold times. Friendly service throughout my time. In conclusion I wish other banks would follow Bank of Botetourts lead in professional customer service. A++!
