Since 1984 the Ballroom Emporium has been dressing the wonderfully whimsical city of Oxford. We specialise in all things vintage and boast an extraordinary 20th century costume department as well as a selection of vintage furniture and homewares. The place is a hidden gem!!! The prices are very reasonable, the staff is nice and helpful, appointments for trials are free. Lots of choice for all ages and all events.
This is truly a gem! Suzanne and Sylvia looked after me so well. I was looking for a vintage Hollywood outfit, they had such a great selection but what made my visit even more special was the care they took to advise and style my outfit, right down to carrying out subtle alterations within a very short timeframe. They went above and beyond, absolutely brilliant and well worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you all so much again! X

This place is just amazing. For years I’ve rented white tie at Sheppard & Woodward, and when they were fully booked this year I very fortunately stumbled upon the ballroom emporium. They go above and beyond and make the whole rental process SO easy. Carol is wonderful and has been working at this store for forty years (!), Jake was extremely efficient with sizing and fitting (took about 5 minutes), and Louisa even ironed my shirt minutes before the ball to make sure it was extra fresh.
