Local living here in the Balboa Peninsula for the last 5 years almost, and felt like it’s due time for me to come by and just say this is a great place to come do anything bicycle related. They have a shop with great prices and everyone that works there is just super nice and genuine. Never once have I gone there to get my bike repaired or fixed or even rent them out and thought for a second just because we’re in a more touristy area these guys would scam me or raise prices on me etc . I’d give 10 stars if possible. Our loaned bike seized up on a gear change due to a bent derailleur. Sky (and Nicholas) at Balboa Bike could have charged me big city rates to make the necessary adjustments so the bike would shift consistently. Sky used his expertise to fix the bike, and reluctantly charged me what I insisted was the value of his time. If this were the start of our vacation week, I’d bring all the house’s bikes to Sky for a tune up.
We had such an incredible experience renting bikes here, and it was all thanks to Gus. From the moment we arrived, he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for us. His attention to detail, genuine kindness, and willingness to take extra time with us made us feel truly valued and cared for. Gus made the entire process smooth, enjoyable, and memorable. This place is awesome!! Very friendly and helpful!! Prices are amazing!! I highly recommend renting electric bikes here!
Stopped in for a repair and it took him almost two whole minutes to diagnose and fix it while telling me funny stories. And then he proceeded to not let me pay! Such a wonderful experience
