I searched far and wide in New England for a shop that could re-sole a pair of well-loved Lowa Zephyr boots. It's a challenge because of the way the soles are molded onto the uppers. But a very capable craftsman at the Lenoci's section of Balanceworks was able to meet the challenge, somehow stripping off the worn soles and affixing new ones--which I've road-tested extensively with lots of outdoor work. So however the new soles are glued/bonded/fitted, it's a great fix. True craftsmanship.
The soles of my 10+ year old leather and sued Uggs had separated from the footbed and since they're my favorite and are no longer made I had to try get them fixed. BalanceWorks and Lenoci's Shoe Repair not only reattached the sole but made them look almost as good as new! After over 10 years of wearing these boots almost everyday during the winter, they were in really rough shape but now they're beautiful again. I can't recommend this place enough. I sent my 15+ yr old Birkenstocks in for a complete rebuild of soles & foot bed but wanted to keep the suede straps. What came back was a brand new looking pair of Birks that look better than when the shoes were new, and the old suede had been cleaned as well!!! Amazing...
