Meet the Business Owner
Jason W.
Business Owner
Jason is a 5th Generation Alabamian, and the first member of his family to graduate college. In 2005, after receiving a degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management from the Auburn University College of Business, Wilson went to work for Georgia Pacific, the largest privately held company in the World.
In 2009, after witnessing the devastating impact of the economic collapse, Wilson made the decision to found Back Forty Beer Company in his hometown of Gadsden, Alabama. Wilson raised $31,000 from friends and family members, and began producing Back Forty beer under contract at a facility in Mississippi. After two years of contract production, Back Forty Beer Company was able to secure an SBA small business loan, which allowed for the renovation and construction of their factory in Historic Downtown Gadsden.
Today, Back Forty Beer Company is the largest producer of alcohol in the State of Alabama.
