Make sure you get everything in writing. We hired Mrs. Gauthier for wills and POA for my grandparents. I made it clear upon booking the appointment that we were unsure of my grandfather's capacity or if he would be capable of understanding the process due to early dementia. During the appointment it became clear to me he couldn't follow what she was saying, so I asked to continue for my grandmother and we would follow up another time for my grandfather. If it is a lawyer that negates her legal understanding of ethics…this is the lawyer for you. You will never need to worry about position of your opposing side, as much as you fear your own council, if she is your lawyer. Her inabilities, to work with clients, will be apparent in due course.
