I had a fantastic experience with Avis Upholstery Studio. Patty and her team created a custom window cushion and matching pillows for our home, and the result is absolutely beautiful. They helped source luxury fabrics from Italy and guided us through the entire selection process with great taste and attention to detail. AVOID. "Patti" or "Patty" (she spells her name both ways in our exchanges) blamed everyone but herself for not getting my item reupholstered. She blamed ICE raids, she blamed her upholsterer who started drinking again, she blamed the zippers on my chair (which were there, mind you, when she inspected it and said she could do the job). The short version: I urge you to take your business elsewhere. The long version: Never in my life have I experienced such a disappointing, unprofessional business exchange. I was looking to get an original Eames chair reupholstered for my husband’s birthday this year. Patty at Avis quoted me just under $1000, which seemed fair. Just picked up my “new” dining room chairs. In love! This is the second time Patty has updated my great grandmother’s dining set. I had an idea of color and pattern scale. Patty helped me refine that and choose something that fits beautifully with the furniture style and the whole room. She took into account what I wanted for care, lifespan and budget in choosing the fabric. I was surprised how quickly she was able to do the project, too. I can’t wait to show them off.
