I doubt there is a worse place to rent a car in Brisbane, or even in Australia. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. I had a confirmed reservation, presented a valid driver’s licence, and provided a credit card as required. DO NOT BOOK AVIS – Very Disappointing Experience I had a very disappointing experience with Avis and would strongly advise others to avoid booking with them. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a recent rental with Avis, collected from Brisbane Airport and returned to your Brisbane downtown office. The total charge for a two-day rental came to $511, which I find excessive and unreasonable, particularly during low season and outside of school holidays. This was one of the worst rental counter experiences I have had in years. The interaction took place at the Brisbane Domestic Airport location between approximately 1:45pm and 2:00pm on Wednesday, 18 February. The staff member was rude, dismissive, and appeared either poorly trained or unwilling to assist.
