It was a pretty good experience with Avis.
I reserved an elite S.U.V. two weeks ahead of time for a trip. When I got there at 8a.m. I was told they didn't have the vehicle I reserved and the company thought it was an upgrade to give me a minivan. I needed a vehicle higher off the ground for a specific reason and was very displeased I had to settle for a 4-runner which was smaller and didn't fit my needs. Needless to say they will never have my business again. In what world is a minivan a good substitute for an elite S.U.V?
Watch yourselves with this. Unless you have a grand to have tied up for who knows how long. They charge initially for the rental and deposit and then put a second charge through while the first one waits in pending to fall off your account.
