I called Avis, i asked them if they were sure they had cars to rent. They assured me they did. Even took my payment right there over the phone. When I got to the counter, no cars. 2-10 to get my refund. Im done with Avis

This Avis location is less than ideal. I had an issue picking up my reserved vehicle (first time this specific issue has ever been a problem). The staff made no attempt to call Avis and work the issue for my reservation that was in the system. Instead I was told to call the customer service number, once I reached a representative I placed them on speaker phone with the person at the front desk. The absolute worst car rental location I have ever experienced. I have now been to the same location numerous times, two of those trips they did not have a car available for me even though it was booked and paid for. I have never experienced another car rental place that allows people to book and pay without confirming they have a car available, including other Avis locations.I understand that this is not the staffs fault and they have to deal with the bad experiences because of it, but they clearly are not happy there. Worst customer service. Always call them and check for the availability of cars when you are planning to book an online reservation. They say "don't trust everything you see online". We booked a sedan and forced to rent an intermediate SUV and charged a lot. I wouldn't recommend Avis.
