Just wanted to leave a 5 star review for Chris and the service I received at Avis at the 160 Weber St S. Waterloo location. Latest model Jetta was clean and great and all but that's hopefully to be expected from any car rental place. It was his kind understanding and accommodating service during a very stressful time for us while visiting my aunt in the hospital that was very much appreciated. Very disappointing experience at the Waterloo Avis location. I’ve rented from Avis multiple times in the last month across New York, Los Angeles, Calgary, and Mississauga with no issues. For this rental, Avis customer service quoted me $586 for an extension and Waterloo drop-off. I returned the vehicle with a full tank and in perfect condition, yet I was charged $697. I had a great exp. Friendly and efficient Owner, the car was clean and fun to drive and the rate was the best in town! I’ll rent from them again.
Even zero star is too much for Avis. I booked a full size sedan but I was given lower tier car despite the higher tier cars in the lot. I was told that it's reserved but it's not fair because I also reserved as well and it's their responsibility to honor it. It was 30 min before closing so not sure why they said it's reserved. I called London location, and they confirmed they have car but soon as I told them about swapping they changed the answer.
