I have rented from Avis for years, but never again! I rented a “luxury” car from the LEX airport on a visit home. They gave me some kind of Hyundai with 40k miles on it that was scratched and dinged all over. Also, there was a large chip in the windshield when I got in that kept hanging the wiper blade. Luckily, I took a picture of this when I got in the rental car. We reserved a Jeep Wrangler on Saturday 1/4/25. The reservation was for 1/6/25 to 1/10/25. My wife’s van was in the shop for recall repairs. After dropping off my wife at the airport LEX to pick up the vehicle, she called me and they wouldn’t let her have the vehicle. The rental payment had already been taken out of our bank account. They said they could not take a debit card from locals for rentals. I really don’t know how this could be legal simply because of where you live.
