Discriminatory. Unprofessional. He refused my debit card, asked for a credit card, and ran my credit report for a daily rental; including a request for down payment of $700 and it's not required based on CT state law. He justified his behavior based on previous experiences where he claimed customers rented the vehicle and refused to return it, so he charged their credit cards for the amount of the depreciated value of the vehicle. Our rental was cancelled the day before we were supposed to pick the car up after scheduling the rental well in advance (months before). We were left scrambling to find another location, at a much less convenient place, to find a car to make it to a family wedding. The Westport branch did not offer to help us in any way. In fact, I called back with follow-up questions about rebooking and the staff avoided my phone calls. I had to call from my mother in law's phone number, which got them to pick up the phone.
