Amazing customer service by the gentleman at the front counter. pickup and drop off was smooth. He was very helpful and very polite. I would come back just for the customer service. I did not catch his name but he deserves a raise

Avis, but applies to the other car rental agencies here. They close at 5 pm. There are no provisions for picking up a car there after then. The train station does not close at 5 pm. People are still arriving until much later in the day. We found that our train was going to be late on June 24 and arriving after 5 pm, so no way to get a car. We had to cancel our reservation and lost money due to it being less than 24 hours prior. Lousy way to run a business. Terrible terrible experience the old lady behind the desk I think her name was Stephanie has some of the WORST I can’t emphasize that enough literally the worst customer service I have ever encountered never will I use the Amtrak Avis for another rental ever. She needs to be trained all over on how to speak to a customer. I felt so disrespected.

Do not rent from the Avis in Wilmington, Delaware at the train station. The vehicle I received smelled like smoke and marijuana so much that it made me sick to drive it and I had to drive with the windows down.
