I booked a mystery car on the Avis website, paying about 20% more than the cheapest intermediate sedan. The mystery car was listed as either electric or hybrid. However, the first car I was offered was a Hyundai Venue, and the second was a Kia K4. Both were about the cheapest intermediate car. You'd be better off renting from Sixt, which is right next door. They don't downgrade the class of cars.
